Top Fashion Trends for Spring 2013

Make sure you have these trendy styles in your spring wardrobe!

Spring is just around the corner and we can’t stop thinking about sunny days—and sundresses. As it comes time to update your closet for the season, make sure you’re purchasing a healthy, happy mix of trendy and classic pieces for your wardrobe. Lucky for you, we have quite a selection of both at Nitsa’s and Fashionista. Below are a few of our favorites that we’ve stocked our shelves with this spring. Come by and take a look; we think you’ll see something that strikes your fancy.

Ombré: It’s obviously still around. We’re taking the trend out of our tresses, though, and applying them to our pants. We love how the subtle change in hue draws the eye down our legs and makes them appear longer. (Who doesn’t want to look leggy like a supermodel?)

Pink and Peplum: In-your-face solids are so in season. So is peplum. We’re loving the light ruffle and statement hue of this pretty little number. The belt cinches at the waist accentuating your curves, or creating the illusion of them if you don’t have them already.

Flowy, Not Fitted: Tops that are more flowy than fitted are finding their way into closets across the country this spring. The bold geometric pattern and shape of this blouse screams to be paired with flats and skinnies. It’s flattering to most body types, and easily transcends from day-time shopping to late-night mingling with a swap of a shoe.

Sweater Weather: It may not be trendy, but that’s because a ¾ length sweater never goes out of style. It’s the perfect pairing for chilly spring nights (with jeans) or breezy spring days (with shorts). This soft mint sweater is a staple for every closet, and the cuffed sleeve gives it just a touch of something different.

Prom Dress Trends for 2013

What are the Hottest Prom Dresses of 2013?

2013 Prom Dress FashionEvery spring brings with it a promise beyond better weather: that the year’s style trends will be better than the year before. This year proves no different, especially when it comes to prom styles. We have more than a few to choose from here at Nitsa’s, and our knowledgeable staff is up-to-date on the latest trends. Stop by and let us help you find the perfect dress to complement your unique style. But first, take a look at what’s trending for 2013:

Ombré: It’s not just a hairstyle. This season, pump up the wow factor without all-over sequins or off-the-wall prints, and opt for a dress with not-so-subtle shade variations. It’s a great way to update the traditional longer-style prom dress. Ombré is also a great option for elongating shorter torsos as the gradient draws the eyes down.

Short and Sweet: Short styles are in the hot seat this year, but short doesn’t mean any less sexy. Add drama by choosing a dress with all-over sequins and long sleeves, or go girly-girl with a soft pink solid dress with sweet cap sleeves. Peplum is a great add-on for girls looking to add curves.

Cut It Out: More often than not, showing just a little skin is sexier than showing a lot. Capitalize on this maxim with the season’s trendy cutout style. Pair with a high mesh or lace neckline to continue the less-is-more illusion, and you’ll have one of the most subtle sexy looks around.

The Long and the Short of it: Can’t decide between the traditional long gown, and the season’s lean toward shorter styles? Now you don’t have to: The high-low (short in front, long in back) or illusion (short dresses with a long sheer overlay) options give you the best of both worlds while keeping you perfectly on-trend.
